·        Reading aloud with pupils

·        Take pupils to select/purchase books

·        Calendar with male teachers reading on each page

·        Role models within school environment

·        Author of the month

·        Bookmark reviews for pupils to complete

·        Book trails

·        Library reading news on school website

·        Suggestions box/list

·        Author visits

·        Peer recommendations orally or postcards

·        Book shop input into school

Ways to promote wider reading in school

·        Chatterbox groups

·        Display in library or classrooms

·        Topic loans include fiction, magazines etc

·        Top 10 list in subject

·        Get caught reading displays

·        INSET day session in library

·        Coffee morning and cake for staff to see stock on non-pupil day

·        Timetabled library slots for each class or year group

·        Induction sessions for all new staff

·        More input from teachers to the library
